Unmade work
THE BIG, BIG GIGGLE
This was a six-part serial detaling a teenage suicide craze, planned for transmission by the BBC in 1966. Ultimately the series was dropped as the BBC was concerned that the series would spawn real-life imitators.

CROW
A play about a Manx slave-trader for ATV.

"Crow was never actually finished, but I had already written most of the music for it before they pulled the plug out.  The reason was because of the series Roots which came out at exactly the same time, and it was felt that it was too similar.  A pity because it was a very original script.
Incidentally the title music of Crow is reworked as a piece for wind/brass band called Calypso which is available in several recordings." - Derek Bourgeoius: composer for Crow

PUSH THE DARK DOOR
In 1985, Kneale planned a series of supernatural stories for American cable TV. Cancelled for financial reasons.
