A remake of Kneale's 1955 television play The Creature. For the film, Peter Cushing (who also played Rollason in the TV versions) was given a wife and an assistant.
"The baddie of the story was played in the television version by Stanley
Baker. In the film version we had Forrest Tucker, and I suppose there was
... a character difference. Baker played it as a subtle, mean person, Forrest
Tucker as a more extrovert bully, but they were both good performances
and I found very little to choose. Tucker was, I think, an under-rated
and very good actor." - Nigel Kneale from
an interview with Andrew Pixley, 1986.
CAPTIONS: "'THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN OF THE HIMALAYAS'";
"FOR THE FIRST TIME";
"A DARK NEW HELLISH HALF-WORLD OF HORROR!":
"Warning:Only those with strong nerves and stout hearts should risk
seeing 'The Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas'."
